Frequently Asked Questions

What is the age range for the camp program?

Our camp is designed for children aged 4-12. We group campers based on age and developmental level to ensure they receive the most appropriate activities and support.

How is the camp program tailored for children with special needs?

We focus on creating a sensory-friendly, structured environment with activities designed for neurodivergent children and those with physical or developmental challenges. Our staff includes trained therapists and coaches who use adaptive techniques, allowing each child to participate at their own pace.

Will my child receive one-on-one support?

Although our camps are well staffed, we do not provide 1:1 support in our camp programs. However, we do maintain small group sizes to ensure each child receives personalized attention. If your child requires 1:1 support, outside accommodations may be considered. Please contact us to discuss your child’s needs.

How do you ensure safety for children with diverse needs?

Safety is our top priority. We provide a sensory-friendly space with equipment designed for children with special needs, including soft surfaces, modified gymnastics equipment, and sensory calming areas. Our staff is trained in behavior management and first aid, and we collaborate with parents to understand each child’s unique safety needs.

How do you handle behavioral challenges?

Our team is experienced in working with neurodivergent children and children with developmental challenges. We use positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques to support campers and your child up for success. If your child requires additional support, our team will work with you to discuss options and strategies.

What should my child bring to camp?

Campers should wear comfortable clothing suitable for gymnastics and play, a water bottle, nut free snack and any necessary or specific sensory aids (such as noise-canceling headphones or comfort toy). We will provide all other equipment and materials for activities.

Can my child participate if they have never done gymnastics or therapy before?

Absolutely! Our camps are beginner-friendly, and no prior experience in gymnastics or therapy is required. We tailor activities to the child’s abilities, ensuring a supportive and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Can parents stay and observe?

We prefer families to drop their child off at the beginning of each day. We request this for all families for the purpose of limiting outside distractions & encouraging independence so children can fully immerse themselves in the camp experience. We provide daily updates on each child’s progress and activities. You can also remotely view our gym times during camp by using our Spot TV complementary service.

What is your camp cancellation policy?

Payment in full is due at the time of enrollment in order to reserve your camp spot. Spectra does not issue refunds for any reason. Should an emergency arise, families are offered a partial tuition credit for future use.
